In an opening speech at FIREX International 2019 Chairman Michael Harper expressed hope that the Grenfell Inquiry would chase “down the whole culture and competency” and that the Grenfell Inquiry must yield to “bedrock change” soon. Considerable action was ongoing with advice on HPL, panel and door tests including money to remove private cladding. Elsewhere standards were being commented upon and the ISSG and others were working hard to address competency.
