Government Amends Building Safety Bill

The Government has presented amemdments to the Building Safety Bill has it progresses through the Lords to its Report Stage prior to the Third Reading. The most notable of changes is the removal of clauses 82 to 86 relating to the appointment of a Building Safety Manager who had a significant role to manage the Part 4 building safety risk for higher risk buildings as outlined in clauses 60 to 81 which remain. Fire Safety amendment to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 clause 146 remains including that to the Risk assessment: assistance 9A relating to competence.
