The Fire Sector Confederation welcomes the Government’s response to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 2 Report and sees its wholesale acceptance of the majority of the recommendations as a positive step forward. However, the practical application of nine recommendations remains in question, as further consideration is required.
We all bear a responsibility to the families of the 72 people who lost their lives to do whatever is necessary to achieve the changes necessary to prevent another tragedy like this.
The solutions are multifaceted, spanning multiple sectors, and there remains much to be done to coordinate those efforts effectively. The Confederation’s charitable purpose aims to bring together relevant people and organisations to collaborate with the Government, prioritising the achievement of the safest possible built environment for society. We look forward to playing an active role in the future fire safety system of the UK.
