UK Concrete is part of the Mineral Products Association (MPA), the trade association, for the aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, dimension, stone, lime, mortar, and silica sand industries, and has been set up to represent the UK’s concrete industry.

UK Concrete together with its sister organisation The Concrete Centre seeks to improve understanding about the important properties of concrete, the role it has to play in helping to build a safe, resilient and sustainable built environment, and to enable all those involved in the design, use and performance of concrete to realise the potential of the material.

We work with stakeholders to ensure there is a clear understanding about the benefits of building with concrete, as a reliable material with the highest fire resistance classification that can save lives and property.  The UK concrete industry also takes its environmental obligations extremely seriously and is committed to being part of a net zero carbon society. We support the ambition to decarbonise as soon as practically and economically possible and are working hard every day to deliver the commitments set out in our net zero roadmap.

We want to accelerate progress and are calling on Government to create a more effective legislative and policy framework to encourage innovation and investment to drive decarbonisation whilst maintaining a safe and resilient built environment. Our members stand ready to provide the materials and solutions needed for supporting higher levels of economic growth and delivering the transition to a net zero carbon economy by 2050.
