Following publication of the Compoetency Steering Group Interim Report two one day consultative conferences to discuss this report on improving competence across safety critical professions and trades working on higher risk residential buildings have been organised.
Raising the Bar sets out recommendations from 13 Working Groups who have responsed to the Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of building safety published in her report, Building a Safer Future.
Raising the Bar is now out for consultation and the conference is designed to feedback views to the CSG who will then consider the opinions as they move towards producing a final report, which will be published later in the year.
The interim report sets out a radical and wide-ranging set of measures to improve the competence of those who procure, design, construct, inspect, maintain and operate higher risk residential buildings (HRRBs), make them safer for the public, and is backed by Government and Dame Judith Hackitt.
